You asked whether you are set up to get paid before the October single. Short answer: your performance side is half built, and your mechanical side is not built at all. The second one is the gap that matters. US streams generate a mechanical royalty whether or not anyone is registered to receive it, and nothing of yours is. It is also free to fix.

This looks at what anyone can see from outside. It does not touch your accounts, so there are things in here marked as not checkable. Those are honest gaps in what a public scan can reach, not judgements.

01What is working

You are affiliated with BMI as a writer. A writer record exists under Wren Hollis. That is the part most people never get around to, and it is done.

Five of eleven songs are registered with BMI. All five are from Caliche. Those five can collect performance royalties when they are played on radio, in venues, or on streaming.

02What is missing

The one that matters most

None of your eleven songs are registered with the MLC. The MLC pays songwriters the mechanical royalty on US streams. Both EPs have been live for over a year and have 310,000 streams between them. Every one of those streams generated a mechanical royalty, and with no registration there is nobody for it to be paid to. How much of that is still claimable is not something a scan of public registries can see, and this scan does not guess. Registration is free and you can do it yourself. Doing it before the October single also means County Line is covered from day one instead of retroactively.

Six songs have no BMI registration. All six from Yard Sale Gospel. Being affiliated is not the same as registering the songs, and only registered works collect.

The publisher share on the five registered works is unclaimed. Your writer share is attached to you. The publisher share, which is the other half of a performance royalty, is not attached to anyone. You do not need a publishing deal to claim it; you need a publishing entity, which can be you.

Songwriter credits are missing on nine of eleven songs. Spotify shows credits on the two singles only. Credits do not pay you directly, but sync and publishing both run on the paper trail they create.

There is nowhere for a fan to buy anything directly. No Bandcamp, no store. At 62 shows a year with merch selling, the online half of that is not running. This is the only income that does not wait on a platform's payout schedule.

03What we could not check

These need access to your accounts. They are the substance of the paid review, and we are not going to guess at them here.

04What we would do first

In this order, and the first two are free and take an afternoon:

Register all eleven songs with the MLC. This is the one with money already on the table.
Register the six unregistered songs with BMI, and set up a publishing entity so the publisher share has somewhere to go.
Add credits to the nine songs missing them, before the October single rather than after.
